When you go to the gym, for a run, or playing sports you'll more than likely find most of the people there wearing synthetic clothing or cotton clothing but since wearing merino wool for fitness we wouldn't wear anything else!

Most people associate wool products with their winter wardrobes and assume it will be itchy like most typical wool products but  because the merino wool fibres are so fine they don't irritate your skin and they're extremely lightweight. 

Merino wool is extremely breathable and pulls moisture away from the skin so you won't feel clammy or sweaty, it is also naturally anti bacterial meaning it is odour resistant.

Because Merino Wool is temperature regulating you can wear the same item all year round without getting too hot in the Summer or too cold in the Winter! Icebreaker Merino Wool Clothing is designed so that you can layer up if needed. Below is some information about the different ranges available for fitness and what we would use them for:

The Icebreaker Aero range is made from a blend of 90% Merino Wool and 10% Lycra and comes in a 120gm weight. This range is hugely popular with our customers and is available in tanks, T-shirts, and half zip sweaters. This range will be perfect for year round use, in the summer team with a pair of lightweight leggings, and in the winter layer under a sweater if exercising outside or wear alone in the gym!

The Icebreaker Sublime range for Women comes in two different weights; the Tanks and Zip are made from 97% Merino Wool and 3% Lycra in a 260gm weight. The new Sublime SS T however forms part of their Corespun collection and is made from 83% Merino wool, 12% Nylon and 5% Lycra in a 150gm weight. Again, perfect for year round use..wear alone or layer up in colder weather!

The Zone Range is Icebreaker's latest range of technical clothing made with their BodyfitZone™ technology and designed specifically for high impact sports and year round use. This range has strategically placed merino mesh for ventilation, gusseted side panels for ease of movement and athletic styling. At 200gm this range is available in Long Sleeve Crewes, Half Zip Baselayers, Leggings, 3/4 Leggings and Half Zip sweaters for Men and Women.

The Victory Range also made in 200gm weight are a range of gorgeous sweaters which are perfect for both Summer and Winter. Made from 86% Merino Wool, 10% Nylon and 4% Lycra. 

If you're looking for something just for when the weather gets colder then the Atom and Quantum ranges are for you! 

The Atom Range, made from Icebreaker RealFLEECE technology is made from 200gm weight but due to the RealFLEECE technology this range comes up 2 x warmer than normal Merino. This range is typically designed for the colder months or for cold weather holidays and activities like Skiing and snowsports. 

The Quantum Range has Vests and Hooded Sweaters made from 260gm Merino Wool with 2% Lycra. This range comes in gorgeous bright colours with mesh underarms for maximum breathability, reflective zips for safety when exercising outside and secure zippered pockets for your essentials!
