At Nature Shop we care about our environment and the world we live in.
We believe in offering our customers products that are produced with as low an impact on the environment as possible.
We like to support brands that are being kind to our earth and the people on it.
Mindful brands that are producing great products that are here for today and here for tomorrow.
At the Nature Shop HQ and Warehouse we try our hardest to implement environmentally sustainable work practices.
We believe in Reduce, Re-Use and Recycle and have an in-depth recycling system in place, recycling paper & cardboard, aluminium, glass and plastics.
We adhere to environmental purchasing guidelines which include (among many things):
- Purchasing and using environmentally friendly products within the workplace.
- Using products that can be recycled.
- Using products that have already been recycled.
- And using products with minimal packaging and wastage
We try our hardest to conserve energy and only use what we need.
We love the websites Freecycle and Freegle and have created our office space from furniture that we have been lucky enough to have found on these websites. Our flooring is reclaimed parquet from 1961 and we love that we have given life back this gorgeous wood that has many years left in it. From the office space we have created, we have proven not everything has to be bought brand new, but with a little imagination, you can create a wonderful space by reusing and recycling. We also give back to Freecycle and list anything we no longer have the need for.
Luckily for us here at Nature Shop we all care about our environment and everyone is enthusiastic to implement our environmental care strategies.
Please read our Environmental Policy Statement.
Packaging and Recycling
All our packaging is done with a combination of biodegradable plastics and recycled paper. We use biodegradable courier bags from a supplier who is a member of the Wastepack Recycling Scheme. The bags are made from Polythene which is a non hazardous material and they are printed using Eco friendly flexographic printing methods. Our invoice/dispatch notes that are included in our parcels are all printed on 100% recycled paper accredited with both Blue Angel and the EU Ecolabel.
A local company collects the majority of our cardboard boxes, which they re-use for their own business operations.
Along with our commitment to environmentally friendly business practices we feel we have an obligation to contribute to the well being of our society and in particular the next generation. With this in mind we have initiated a program of financial support for local charities and enjoy supporting charities UK and worldwide.
Offsetting our Carbon Footprint
Now that Nature Shop have found our feet, we are keen to leave as smaller footprint as possible. We plan to do this by donating and planting trees to local schools that need new gardens and help with their outdoor areas. We are hoping our small actions will not only help offset our Carbon Footprint, but will also support our local community and help create great outdoor spaces for children.
