bluesign® Approved Fabrics
The bluesign® system brings together the textile supply chain to jointly reduce its impact on people and the environment.
bluesign® Technologies, based in Switzerland, combines the expertise in key segments throughout the entire textile supply chain, including chemical technology, textile technology, environmental technology and supply chain management. They have developed the bluesign® system to ensure its implementation and maintenance across all facets of the textile supply chain, ensuring the production of textiles and fabrics that are safer for people and safer for the environment.
They do this by:
Bringing together the textile supply chain to reach these safer standards
Eliminating substances posing risks to people and the environment from the very beginning
Ensuring a responsible use of resources
Ensuring safety for people and the environment throughout the entire supply chain
Develop textile production with the least possible impact on the environment
Conserve resources and ensuring safety for worker and consumers
bluesign® Technologies goal is to link chemical suppliers, textile manufacturers and brands together to create a healthy and responsible textile industry.
bluesign® Technologies is an independent, world recognised accreditation and to be bluesign® approved you must agree at the outset to establish management systems for improving environmental performance across all areas of the production process. Regular reporting is required to prove systems are in place and on-site audits are preformed to ensure all facets of the accreditation are met.
