Face Masks compulsory in England
Since mid-May, the public has been encouraged to wear face coverings in enclosed public spaces but the Government has today announced new rules to make face masks compulsory in shops and supermarkets from the 24th July.
George Eustice the Environment Secretary said "It is about managing the overall risk...any type of covering will be sufficient for this purpose". Those who fail to comply with the new rules will face a fine of up to £100.
