Wellies - A Brief History

Wellington boots had their birth with the first duke of Wellington - Arthur Wellesley. The "wellington" boot as it became known was adopted by the English aristocrats in the 19th century. Over the following century or so Wellies were adopted by numerous groups including the military, farmers and the outposts of New Zealand, Australia and Canada. Wellies have now being in mainstream use for decades and in the last few years have had a massive resurgence as a mainstream fashion trend all over the world.
